From Digital Spy

The BBC has released a first look at exciting new series My Mum Tracy Beaker, introducing us to Tracy's daughter Jess.

Dani Harmer is back playing heroine Tracy, while newcomer Emma Davies plays her 11 year-old Jess (who has her mum's trademark curly hair).

My Mum Tracy Beaker follows Tracy and Jess as they struggle with financial difficulties while enjoying the close, loving bond Tracy never had with her own mum.

But their lives change drastically thanks to the arrival of Tracy's rich new boyfriend, Sean Godfrey (Jordan Duvigneau), who admired Tracy when they were young and he was known as 'Football'.

Sean is now recently retired after a successful football career and wants to give Tracy the life she's always dreamed of, but when things start to go wrong, can Jess save the day for her mum?

The three-part series started filming earlier this year and is expected to air in 2021.

Speaking about the role, Emma said: "I'm really enjoying playing Jess Beaker, she's such a fun character to play. It was so awesome to start work on the show as me and my brother have watched Tracy Beaker for as long as I can remember, we are huge fans!"

Dani Harmer added: "Words can't describe how excited I am to bring Tracy back! I'm just like all the fans, and have been desperate to find out what Tracy has been up to and where her next journey is going to take her.

"It's been so lovely to work with some familiar faces too. The script is brilliant and I think the audience is going to love where the story goes."

My Mum Tracy Beaker will air on CBBC and BBC iPlayer next year.
