BBC Hairy Bikers' Si King flooded with supportive messages afher heartbreaking 'solo' appearance

Si King has been flooded with support after sharing a heartfelt "thank you" with fans following a solo appearance. The BBC Hairy Bikers star and ITV cooking show regular sadly lost best pal and co-star Dave Myers to a brave battle with cancer back in February.

Si wrote: "Thank you everyone that joined me at Taste of Grampian! Lovely to see everyone Si x" In reply, a fan said: "You were brilliant Si! And thank you so much for taking a picture with my son and signing his badge (although he lost it later and we searched for it everywhere but no joy.

"You really made his day and I’ll never forget how happy his face was when you spoke to him!" A second typed: "Love you Si sooomuch and Dave continues to be with you in whatever you do always by your side as usual God bless you."

"Great see you smiling & achieved this Si (hard on your own) keep doing it, getting to everything you want & can! Public love you (loved you both)," wrote a third. "Was lovely meeting you! What a kind guy taking time to speak to everyone x," another said.

"Could listen you talk about food, music, bikes and funny stories. It helps take my mind off pain etc that I'm going through at the moment being sick sucks," another said. The Hairy Bikers star and TV chef died in February at the age of 66 following a battle with cancer.

Best friend Si announced the sad news in a heartbreaking message shared on social media, in which he confirmed he, Dave's wife Liliana Orzac, his family and close friend David were all by his side as he sadly passed on February 28.

It was decided after his death that Dave and Si's latest cookery series, Hairy Bikers Go West, would continue to air in his memory and the final episode of the series left viewers in tears.
