BBC's 'Industry' series two releases first-look pics

City bankers drama Industry is set to make a season two return and first-look images show the tension on the trading floor is at fever pitch in the post-COVID world.

The BBC One series about a group of graduate trainees entering the incredibly pressurised environment of high finance at the sex and drug-fuelled blitz of international bank Pierpoint & Co's London office is back, but this time the young employees won't be able to hide behind their graduate status.

With a "back to work - or else" mandate issued to staff, the atmosphere on the trading floor is more paranoid than ever, meaning early mornings, late nights and high expectations are back.

Added to the unknowns of financial life after COVID, a new US management team is pouring gasoline on the flames as Harper, Yasmin and Robert try to drive new business and make new alliances both in and out of the office.

The new episodes are set a year after the height of the pandemic, with the series one graduates having secured jobs but challenged with a new reality that no one quite understands yet.

The returning cast includes Myha’la Herrold (Bodies, Bodies, Bodies) as Harper Stern, Marisa Abela (Cobra) as Yasmin Kara-Hanani, Harry Lawtey (The Pale Blue Eye) as Robert Spearing, and David Jonsson (Deep State) as Gus Sackey, with Ken Leung (Lost) as Eric Tao, and Conor MacNeill (Artemis Fowl) as Kenny Kilblane.

New cast are Alex Alomar Akpobome as Danny Van Deventer, a wonderkid executive director from the New York office, Indy Lewis as Venetia Berens, Yasmin’s newest recruit on the foreign exchange sales desk and Katrine de Candole as Celeste Pacquet.

Jay Duplass is reputable hedge fund manager Jesse Bloom, Sonny Poon Tip plays his son Leo Bloom, and Adam Levy is Yasmin’s playboy father Charles Hanani.

Returning recurring cast include Sarah Parish as Nicole Craig, Nicholas Bishop as Maxim Alonso, Sagar Radia as Rishi Ramdani, Mark Dexter as Hilary Wyndham and Caoilfhionni Dunne as Jackie Walsh.

Industry is set to return to BBC One in autumn 2022.
