BBC Nightsleeper viewers 'can't watch' as new drama takes tragic turn in final moments

Some viewers were left covering their eyes in horror on Sunday night, as the final moments of Nightsleeper's third episode saw things take a tragic turn, with the death of a central character.
After millions tuned into see its launch on the BBC last weekend, social media was full of opinions on the new six part drama, which focuses on the 'hacking' of a sleeper train from Glasgow to London and the serious repercussions for all those on board and those who have to deal with the repercussions hundreds of miles away, specifically cyber crime expert Abby Aysgarth, played by Alexandra Roach.

The finger of suspicion was pointed at various characters in the opening two episodes, including Joe Roag, the disgraced cop who is Abby's only ally on the train as she tries to work out who is responsible for the hijack. The third episode of Nightsleeper aired on Sunday, September 22, with tensions escalating even further between Joe and passenger Danny Geoghan, with the oil rig worker desperate to get off the train so he could go and be by his wife's side in labour.
*SPOILER ALERT* Sadly for Danny, his tenacity and need to be there for his family had deadly consequences, when he climbed on the roof of the train in an attempt to get to the engine, only to fall and land on the tracks. And as viewers at home watched him attempt to crawl to safety, they then looked on in despair as he ended up being crushed by the train as it started moving backwards.
Danny's horrific demise, made worse by the sound effect as the train went over him, quickly got a lot of people talking on social; media, with one viewer reacting: "that's a nasty way to go" and another writing: "They really went for that sound effect." Others couldn't bring themselves to watch, including one viewer who posted: "oK i CAN;T WATCH pls tlellme if he dies"
