BBC Race Across the World has delighted viewers by teasing a brand-new series just weeks after the 2024 finale which saw Isabel and Eugenie pipped to the post by Alfie and Owen in the race from Japan to Indonesia. It's only been a couple of weeks since the best friends from Hertfordshire won the £200,000 prize money after becoming the first to cross the finish line, however, a new season is preparing to air.

The official Race Across the World social media account has teased the 2024 celebrity version of the show. Posting on X, formerly known as Twitter, BBC show bosses wrote: "This journey may be over... But a new one is about to begin #CelebrityRaceAcrossTheWorld coming soon to BBC One and #iPlayer."

Fans of the show were quick to react, as one wrote: "Can’t wait! Last series was best so far," while another added: "Truly enjoyed every season so far! Very happy with the winners! Where next???"

"I love the Celebrity Race Across the World and can't wait for it to start," said a third, while a fourth commented: "Fantastic, I hope I don't know any of them, so it is watchable like the last celebrity series."

The new celebrity version will be the second instalment of the star-studded series. Last year saw McFly star Harry Judd compete with his mum alongside weatherman Alex Beresford and racer Billy Monger, who unfortunately was forced to pull out due to a family issue.

Not everyone loved the announcement, however, as one fan wrote: "I don't like the privileged celebrity version," as another echoed: "Why do these so called celebrities have to hijack every show? The reason why RATW is so good cause it's normal folk who we can all relate to." You can keep up to date with the latest TV and showbiz news by signing up to the newsletter here.
