BBC Saturday Kitchen viewers want 'police investigation' into show over 'hate crime'
BBC Saturday Kitchen viewers have speculated the show could be "investigated by police" after Saturday's episode. The cheeky comments from fans came in the wake of chef Niklas Ekstedt stealing the show with his non-PC remarks and cheeky blunt barbs on November 16.
Matt Tebbutt welcomed Niklas and a string of other guests onto the show today from 9.30am. "#saturdaykitchen Love the mad Swedish chef..," one typed. A second typed: "#SaturdayKitchen Swedish chef is funnier than Josh Widdicombe..." A third laughed: "@SaturdayKitchen Niklas Ekstedt will probably be investigated by the police for a hate crime following the "Goats Cheese comments " !"
"@SaturdayKitchen slightly concerned how Niklas Ekstedt handles meat and then touches salad and potatoes without washing his hands. Not great for vegetarians. But very pleased to see Matt did," said another Twitter/X user on the platform.

"#saturdaykitchen Can we have some more politically incorrectness from the Swedish chef please? The producers are s***ting themselves..," said another. Another typed: "@SaturdayKitchen the cutting method for hasselbacks makes them much more executable. Looked like a very festive plate.
"Nice to see the non drinker isn't isolated. Whether deliberately or not thats a good idea." Last time Niklas was on the show back in 2023, Matt told him “low and slow” before turning around to his guest and saying: “You really are muscling in, aren’t you?”
Niklas was left in stitches at the remark and cheekily swiped: “When are you retiring?” Matt looked at his watch and said “at half-past eleven” with the camera then cutting across the studio to the guests and showing Grace with her hands in front of her face.
As the show came to an end, Matt - who still hosts the show - joked: “That’s all for us on Saturday Kitchen Live and that’s the last time you’ll see Niklas.”
