Strictly Come Dancing fans were quick to spot the same detail as JB Gill and Lauren Oakley shared their first update as an official dancing couple.

There was gutting news this week as it was confirmed Amy Dowden wouldn't be able to contine competiting in the BBC One dance contest with JLS star JB after suffering a foot injury.

The Welsh dancer made a triumphant return to the ballroom back in September after being forced to miss out on competing in the 2023 series due to undergoing treatment for breast cancer. She was paired with JB for the 2024 series and they were going from strength to strength in the BBC One dance contest.

But Amy recently "fell ill" and was forced to miss a week in rehearsals and, therefore, the latest live show on Saturday night (November 2). Lauren Oakley stepped in so JB could continue to perform over the weekend in the first-ever 'Icons Week'.

However, it has since been confirmed that Amy won't be able to return to the competition as she recovers from a foot injury and JB will carry on the remainder of his time on the hit dance show with Lauren.

Following the news, Amy issued a statement saying her "heart was breaking" at having to make the decision before vowing to support JB and Lauren, describing herself as their "biggest cheerleader".

In response to the news, Lauren said: "This too shall pass. We’re still a team. Love you. You did the ground work, I’ll carry your partnership forward and hopefully make you proud," while JB shared: "Heartbreaking news @amy_dowden but our moments will be forever in strictly history, never forget that. Thank you for being the best teacher. Nothing but love from all of the Gill family."

JB and Lauren have since ploughed on with training as it was confimred they'll be performing a Samba to Mas Que Nada by Sergio Mendes. They have also shared their first social media post together a new dancing couple in which they took on the viral challenge of re-performing Dancing with The Stars' Danny Amendola and Witney Carson's jaw-dropping dance move that has swept social media.

Captioning the post, JB wrote: "You know we had to try this challenge [crying laughing emojis] #leglift #challenge." JB's wife Chloe was quick to respond, writing: "Unreal," alongside flame emojis. Lauren's fellow pro Kai Widdrington commented: "Yeah yeah," alongside the same flame emojis while former co-star Oti Mabuse cheered: "Let’s gooooooo."

And their fans and followers were quick to gush over the pair and point out their 'chemsitry'. @pinsoclock said: "Incredible. One of the best I’ve seen this being done!" @ge_eta3585 commented: "Wow absolutely incredible. Can’t wait to see both perform on Saturday." @vickihill577 wrote: "Wow wow wow."

@hazel2203x posted: "The chemistry already [flame emoji]." @wlmylove4ever replied: "I noticed that too - their chemistry is wow." @helencat82 added: "I’ve only ever seen that done once before - wow….so much core strength how do you do it Lauren it’s gonna be gooooooood."
