BBC Strictly Come Dancing fans 'confused' about Chris McCausland's scores ahead of results show
BBC Strictly Come Dancing fans are saying the same thing ahead of Sunday night's results show. After Chris McCausland and Dianne Buswell's couple's choice dance to John Lennon's Instant Karma on Saturday, many have taken to social media to call their scores "unfair".
The dance featured a series first, with a moment of complete blackout in the middle to represent Chris's blindness, with the performance sparking a huge applause from the audience as well as some emotional judges. However, fans have claimed that the scores were too low and didn't match the judge's praising comments.
The dance received a score of 33 out of 40 marks. Craig Revel Horwood scored the couple a seven, Motsi Mabuse gave a score of eight while Head judge Shirey Ballas and Anton Du Beke scored the pair a nine out of ten.

In an Instagram post uploaded to BBC Strictly, Dianne Buswell and Chris McCausland's pages, fans were quick to share their thoughts. The post showed a clip from the couple's dance with the caption: "The spotlight's on Chris and Dianne's amazing Couple's Choice! A moment that will forever shine on #Strictly."
One less than pleased fan commented: "A seven from Craig? I'd love to see him do a dance of any description blindfolded. Wrong. Wrong. WRONG!" A second said: "The judges comments don't reflect the points! They definitely deserved more."
While a third Instagram user added: "I thought this was one word, classy! But it was undermarked and Craig you say all that stuff and you give a seven. I really thought there could have been a 10 from one of the judges, but I know I'll be voting for him."
Craig Revel Horwood, 59 is known for his constructive criticism and tough scoring compared to the other judges. Following Chris and Dianne's performance on Saturday he called the blackout moment "absolutely spectacular" and said "I really don't know how you're doing this".
Anton Du Beke, 58 said he would give the couple a 15 if he could but, due to "some mistakes", gave them a score of nine. Under the same Instagram post, one user commented: "Underscored again. I'm confused by what the judges say and then score."
Over on social media platform X, fans were also outraged. One shared: "How about all contestants have to learn their dance blindfold and experience what Chris has to do! Then maybe the judges too who should try and then maybe marks would be given accordingly!"
However, others have focussed on the positive message behind Chris's performance and his representation for those with a disability. This X user said: "I'm loving watching @chrismccausland and @dbuzz6589 on #strictly. They are achieving what appears to be miracles, but demonstrate that all sort of things are possible, with or without a disability, which I think is the message Chris wants to get out there."
