BBC Strictly Come Dancing fans predict 'catfight' this series after Motsi Mabuse's 'rude' move
Strictly Come Dancing fans think a 'catfight' is brewing after slamming Motsi Mabuse's 'rude move'. The judges were back at their judging desk as the BBC One dance contest officially got underway.
The hit show aired live for the first time on Saturday night (September 21) as all 15 of the new Strictly couples performed in for the first time following last weekend's pre-recorded launch show that revealed the pairings for the 2024 run.
The first live show of the 2024 series kicked off with a routine from the professional dancers, who dressed in colourful outfits and danced an array of flamenco, cha cha, paso doble and salsa moves to a medley of songs before Tess Daly and Claudia Winkleman arrived to welcome the judges and the Strictly stars to the ballroom.

But it was JLS singer JB Gill and his dance partner Amy Dowden's routine which saw tension emerge between Motsi and her fellow judge Craig.
JB and Amy, who missed out on having a celebrity dance partner last year amid her treatment for breast cancer, were awarded 31 points during Strictly’s first live show for 2024 after the pair were given a standing ovation for their waltz to When I Need You by singer Leo Sayer.
Craig didn't hold back as he told JB that his 'hands were ugly out of hold' and that the routine 'lacked swing and sway'. But Motsi didn't seem to want to listen as she told her fellow judge to 'save it for later in the contest' before going on to give her comments.
She said it was 'so good' to see Amy dancing again which was echoed by Shirley who said the Welsh dance was 'back where you belong'. She added that the routine 'ticked lots of boxes' and described team 'Jamy' as an 'epic partnership'.
But taking to social media, Strictly fans were annoyed at Motsi for stopping Craig in his tracks as he appeared like he was about to add some positivity to his critique of JB and Amy's first routine.
@stedanchick said: "Craig was not happy about Motsi cutting him off. I see a catfight coming up this season...#Strictly." @Eva_GBTheatre commented: "Oh Motsi! Craig was about to say something positive & you cut him off! #Strictly." @LisaCol20749716 wrote: "Thought Motsi was a bit rude there #Strictly."
@BlondeMzungu fumed: "Motsi is completely out of order for interrupting Craig and disagreeing with his critique. He is perfectly entitled to his opinion & she should stop butting in #strictly #strictlycomedancing."
However, @JOEMS2020 posted: "Love a bit of Motsi & Craig #Strictly." @victabish added: "Craig and Motsi are my favourite double act. #Strictly."
