BBC Strictly Come Dancing fans in tears as show pays tribute after tragic deaths of two stars
Strictly Come Dancing fans were moved to tears by the shows homage to two beloved figures we've lost. The emotional moment took place at the conclusion of Saturday night's opener.
The show ended with tributes to ex-dancer Robin Windsor and 2013 contestant from Hairy Bikers, Dave Myers, accompanied by heartfelt words. A tribute displayed their professional Strictly snaps with an inscription: "In loving memory of Dave Myers 1957-2024 and Robin Windsor 1979-2024."
Sadly, Dave passed away on February 28, aged 66, surrounded by loved ones after a prolonged battle with cancer. e Robin was tragically found deceased on February 19 at the age of 44 in a hotel.

Reacting on X, previously known as Twitter, a viewer shared: "Oh the dedications to Dave and Robin at the end" with an array of tearful emojis. Another remarked: "Oh heck the Dave Myers and Robin Windsor tributes at the end took my breath away a bit."
Another fan stated: "Nice touch there at the end of #Strictly. Remembering Dave Myers and Robin Windsor." And another fan added: "Touching tribute to Dave Meyers and Robin Windsor at the end of tonight's #Strictly I enjoyed the whole launch show."
Earlier, the programme had already stirred emotions among the audience with a delicate nod to the late presenter Sir Bruce Forsyth in its 2024 opening sequence. Before the 15 eager celebs were paired with their pro dancers, a lively ensemble performance featuring Dave Arch, Tess Daly, Claudia Winkleman, and all the judges kicked off as they joined this year's pros.
They made their way to BBC Television Centre in style, aboard a party bus - with the license plate dedicated to former presenter Sir Bruce Forsyth. Sir Bruce passed away in 2017 from bronchial pneumonia at his Wentworth Estate home.
Fans took to social media to express their emotions, with one tweeting: "#Strictly #Scd What a lovely nod to Sir Bruce Forsyth #Bus #Strictlycomedancing." Another chimed in: "Loving the reg on the #Strictly bus, BRUCIE, never forgotten."
"The tribute to Brucie on Strictly, nope not crying at all #Strictly," shared a third.
