Strictly Come Dancing has returned, but it wasn't long before the first complaint about the new 2024 series was aired.

On Saturday evening (September 21), the dance floor lit up with the first live show of this year's series, following on from the launch episode where the celebs and their professional partners were revealed last week.

Presenters Tess Daly and Claudia Winkleman are once again at the helm, guiding viewers as 15 fresh pairings aim to dazzle their way to victory and lift the coveted Glitterball trophy.

However, before the contestants could showcase their moves in the season's inaugural live show, they were introduced through a pre-recorded segment depicting their arrival at Elstree Studios.

The opening sequence featured JB Gill stepping out from a stage performance, Pete Wicks leaving his podcast studio, and Shayne Ward receiving a spray tan, reports the Mirror.

Yet, not all Strictly fans were impressed by the show's commencement and quickly voiced their opinions on social media. One viewer expressed on X: "#Strictly I wish they would stop filling the time with we don't need to see all this. Stop wasting time.."

Another commented: "#Strictly that intro was weird." A third shared their enthusiasm: "The opening credits going for a comedy feel this year, I love it! #Strictly." One fan remarked: "These intros are giving big brother vibes #Strictly", while another missed the past, saying: "#SCD Missing the old orchestra intro music. #Strictly."
