BBC Strictly Come Dancing pro Jowita Przystal says 'we're gutted' in Amy Dowden admission
Strictly Come Dancing pro Jowita Przystal has spoken out about co-star Amy Dowden's sudden hospitalisation for the first time. The dancer spoke about the turmoil amongst the cast of the hit BBC show.
Jowita was appearing on ITV show This Morning today (Wednesday, October 30) when she was asked about Amy being forced to step back from the competition for Icons week. Amy, a Welsh professional dancer who has been candid about her struggle with Crohn's Disease and her cancer battle of nearly a year and a half, was reportedly "doing much better" but won't be joining this week's installment of Strictly following an incident which led to her collapse during last Saturday's live performance.
Jowita appeared on This Morning on Wednesday and spoke regarding her fellow dancers health, expressing that "we're all gutted." In a conversation with Alison, when asked about any news on Amy, Jowita confirmed the sad news that Amy's emergency incident means she will indeed be missing this week's show.

In Amy's absence, Lauren Oakley, 33, will fill in to train and perform alongside JB Gill, 37, for this week's Strictly dance floor challenge. Last Saturday witnessed a serious turn of events as Amy's condition necessitated urgent attention, prompting firefighters to use specialised apparatus to transport her safely from the Strictly studios and flat to an ambulance.
Her absence was conspicuous during Sunday night's broadcast, where hosts Claudia Winkleman and Tess Daly had to inform the viewers: "Before we get started, Amy isn't able to be with us for tonight's show." The scene saw JB standing solo on the iconic staircase, later offering a smile and a grateful "Thank you" amidst audience applause upon securing his spot for the next round.
