BBC Strictly Come Dancing Shayne Ward's famous partner in tears as huge personal sacrifice unveiled
Shayne Ward's fiancée was in tears after his emotional performance on Strictly Come Dancing. The former X Factor winner took to the dancefloor tonight for the second week of the BBC contest.
He was joined by his partner Nancy Xu they danced the Tango to the Door. Shayne opened up on the difficult preparation for this week's dance after he was criticised by viewers for his first performance.
He said: "After the show on Saturday I received some negative comments on social media saying I was over-confident. Some of them did get to me, when in truth I’m only human, I was scared, I was terrified. And I hid it behind as much smiling as possible.”
Shayne said the preparation was "tough" and received praise from Shirley Ballas for the way he overcome the criticism. He received a total score of 31 for his incredible performance.

Away from the dancefloor, Shayne is in a happy relationship with Sophie Austin. The soap star, who is renowned for her role as Lindsey Butterfield in Hollyoaks, was in attendance to show support for Shayne.
Sophie was overcome with emotion and struggled to hold back the tears as she applauded her fiance. Shayne and Sophie are the proud parents of two children and have been together for nine years.
They recently celebrated their anniversary as Shayne shared a heartfelt message on Instagram. He said: "Another year has gone by…. And I love you more each and every second. I’m feel very blessed to have you by my side. Let’s keep holding hands.
"Let’s keep walking in each others footsteps. Let’s keep finding new adventures. Let’s keep singing. Let’s taste the world's greatest foods (That’ll be fajitas for me).
"Lets dance like no one is watching, But certain eyes always are. Our heaven sent angels Willow May and Reign. I couldn’t imagine my life without you in it. My best friend for the last 9 years."
In an interview with our sister site, Mirror Online, Shayne revealed the two agreed to push their planned wedding back to next year due to Strictly. He said: "It'll be happening.
"Sophie and I were actually looking at the end of this year, but we couldn't because this incredible show happened. Strictly came along, and so we had to put the wedding on hold.
"I've joked that maybe we could do both together, and get married after the results show. But we have plenty of time. It was actually Sophie who put me forward for the show.
"For many years she's talked about Strictly, she loves, loves the show, so every year the music would come on and she'd whisper: 'You'd be good at this.' She always had that belief in me, she'd say: 'I just think you'd really enjoy it, and I want people to see you.'
"This year she said to me: 'Can I please put your name forward?' and I said: 'Yeah' because it felt like the right time. So she did, and now I'm so happy I said yes because it's one of the best things I've ever done."

Before he met Sophie, Shayne was previously in a relationship with star of The Responder, Faye McKeever. The former couple had been together before Shayne shot to stardom when he won the X Factor in 2005.
The couple got engaged in 2012, but announced their split two years later in 2014. Addressing the split at the time, Shayne admitted the two grew apart as he said: "Faye’s a great girl and it’s unfortunate that we have split up. It was hard to deal with. I still absolutely love her to bits.”
According to our sister site, Mirror Online, he added: "It’s a lot pressure. Having a relationship in this industry is hard. Faye handled it really well, but unfortunately it came to an end. We just grew apart.
“Faye and her family will always be part of my extended family. We’re still friends. We were together for so long and I would be devastated if weren’t. I wanted to keep it amicable, and so did she. I’m probably taking a leaf out of Simon’s book - he keeps all his exes with him, doesn’t he?”
