Strictly Come Dancing star Ore Oduba and his wife Portia Oduba have announced their separation. The pair had been married for nine years, and share two children.

Ore, 38, took to social media to tell fans their relationship had come to an end, the Mirror reports. A statement was posted to his Instagram Story, which read: “Hi guys. Portia and I are sad to announce that we separated earlier this year. We’re so grateful for all the love you’ve shared with us both over the years."

The musical theatre star, who won the BBC ballroom show in 2016 alongside Joanne Clifton, continued: “And we want to thank you in advance for respecting our privacy as we navigated this difficult transition. We will be making no further comment. Be kind, always.”

Portia shared a similar statement with her own social media followers. She met the former CBBC star at Loughborough University in 2010. Ore popped the question four years later, and they wed in 2015 at Penshurst Place in Kent.

Ore previously told the Mirror: “On my wedding day I cried from 11 in the morning until 2am that night. There's a picture of me wailing, my best men there laughing and Portia absolutely cracking up next to me – I am the only one crying.”

The former couple share two children - son Roman, who was born in 2018 and daughter Genie, who they welcomed in 2021.
