Strictly Come Dancing's Jamie Borthwick will take to the famous Blackpool Tower Ballroom floor tonight with partner Michelle Tsiakkas - after almost not making it to the home of ballroom. The EastEnders actor will be hoping to impress the judges and viewers at home more than last week.

Jamie almost missed out on the special occasion after landing at the bottom of the leaderboard last week. But he was saved by the public votes, with Wynne Evans and Shayne Ward ending up in the dreaded dance-off.

Shayne was sent home from the BBC competiton. Jamie, 30, from Barking, is best known for playing Jay Brown in EastEnders. But what do we know about his love life?

Below we see what Jamie has said about his 'quiet' love life, his links to two EastEnders co-star and a third that he admitted he 'wanted to marry'.

Jamie Borthwick's 'sex ban'

Jamie confessed he was single as the show started. During the show's launch event, he light-heartedly mentioned feeling unloved at the moment.

He also addressed rumours about imposing a strict "sex ban" ahead of intense dance training sessions. He said: "'No booze ban for me.

"I've never drunk ever in my life and no one loves me, so I can't do a sex ban! No bans for me, just loads of food."

Jamie Borthwick's link to co-stars

Jamie and his co-star Danielle Harold, who played his on-screen partner Lola Pearce until her tragic death from a brain tumour, sparked rumours of a relationship off the set after they were spotted looking cosy at several award shows following Lola's on-screen death. However, Jamie dismissed these rumours, insisting they were just friends.

After Lola's departure from the show, Jay encountered her lookalike, Nadine Keller, portrayed by Jazzy Phoenix, and started spending time with her. This led to further speculation that Jamie had moved on from Danielle and was now in a relationship with Jazzy, especially after he posted pictures of them goofing around together on social media.

He denied being romantically involved with either Jazzy or Danielle, telling the Mirror: "They linked me with Jazzy and they linked me with Danielle. I'm just surprised they haven't linked me with (Strictly Come Dancing partner) Nancy (Xu)! " When asked more about his love life, Jamie added: "There is no lady on the scene at the minute, I'm just enjoying the quiet life."

EastEnders co-star Jamie Borthwick 'wanted to marry'

Jamie has previously confessed to being "in love" with actress Emma Barton, who plays Honey Mitchell in EastEnders. Their characters became an item on the show, but they later broke up due to their age difference, stating they were "at different stages of their lives".

In a candid revelation, Jamie, the actor who has been with EastEnders since 2006, once shared his initial reaction to co-star Emma Barton with TV Times: "I was about 14 when I first set eyes on Emma Barton. I fell in love with her long, shapely legs and I wanted to marry her."

He humorously recalled how his fellow cast member Perry Fenwick, who portrays Billy Mitchell and on-screen husband to Honey, egged him on to approach Emma, which didn't go as planned. Jamie admitted: "I remember walking over to her and saying, 'Alright darlin', wow, you smell nice.' It brought the house down and we still laugh about it now."
