Craig's life with Jonathan Myring

Craig and Jonathan, who is 22 years his junior, have been dating since 2018. Back then he told The Sun: "He's good looking, 5ft 10in, dark hair and beard.

"We met on the Strictly Tour a month ago. He came to the show with a friend and we met backstage. We plan on seeing each other a lot. We have all our weekends planned until Strictly."

Craig later opened up about Jonathan, who is a culturalist, on Loose Women, gushing that he was in love. He told viewers: "He is fabulous and I love him, he is absolutely gorgeous and adorable, and yes he is 20 years younger."

The couple have faced many setbacks with their wedding, which was initially scheduled to take place in 2020 but was postponed due to the pandemic. The resceheduled date in 2022 was then pushed back as Craig and Jonathan wanted to have a home wedding, with their home in Stamford currently undergoing refurbishments.

Another poignant reason for the delay was Craig's hopes for his Australian mother to be present, however a cancer diagnosis stopped this. Speaking to Women's Own, the star said: "She's not really well enough to come over this year, so I've said we’ll wait until she's better."

Appearing on The Steph Show in 2022, Craig and Jonathan revealed that the marriage proposal took place during a trip to Tasmania. "It was a slight disaster really," joked Jonathan. "I had a beautiful engagement planned in Tasmania and Craig refused to go and sit on the banks of the river to look for platypus. So I had to call him to frantically call him to go…"

Interrupting his partner, Craig quipped: "That's because the last time we waited for platypus, it was four hours and we didn't see one. So I wasn't going to sit through that again, was I? All I wanted to do was go back to the hotel and have a bubble bath. Well I jumped in the bubble bath and then Jonathan jumped in with me and proposed in the bubble bath with a glass of champagne."

Craig's relationship with Britain's Got Talent star

Craig was previously in a relationship with Britain's Got Talent puppeteer Damon Scott, before the pair called it quits in 2016. Damon, runner-up in the first series of Britain’s Got Talent with a monkey puppet act, met Craig in 2013 when they were both at a club in Southampton.

Damon told The Sun they had moved in together Craig's house in Hampshire after a whirlwind romance. He said their relationship was a 'fairytale' but quickly alleged difficulties emerged due to heavy drinking between the pair.

Craig, who frequently described Damon as “his gorgeous boyfriend”, opened up about their hopes to marry and adopt. But the pair reportedly split after a row at the Strictly tour wrap party.

Craig's ex wife Jane Horwood

Craig was married to Jane Horwood in 1990 before the pair parted wa. At the time he was 25 and she was 30.

They divorced after just two years after Craig found out Jane was cheating. They have remained good friends since their marriage with the pair even working together still.

The pair met when they shared a house in London together while he was starring in stage show Miss Saigon. In his autobiography All Balls and Glitter: My Life Craig said: “Gradually, our intimacy developed into a proper relationship.“Jane had in fact thought I was gay when we first met.

“At the beginning of 1990, Jane and I became an item. We resided in a one-bedroom flat in Crouch End, which was very romantic – a bit like Robert Redford and Jane Fonda in Barefoot in the Park."

Speaking about his sexuality, he added: "I was both gay and straight, so being bisexual, it wasn’t a big issue for me or for her. We were two people who loved each other, coming together and wanting to have kids before it was too late."

Speaking about the end of their relationship he said: "“It didn’t last, mainly because our sex life diminished somewhat and I suppose that led to the inevitable scenario – Jane slept with someone else. I discovered the affair just before our two-year anniversary.

“We had a friend whom we called Lightning, on account of his not being very quick off the mark, and I found that they were sleeping together. I moved out and he moved in.”
