BBC Strictly Come Dancing star Tess Daly halts quarter-final to announce 'show first'
BBC Strictly Come Dancing star Tess Daly has halted the show to declare a programme "first". Tess was joined by Claudia Winkleman on the show on Saturday night, for the live quarter final, which aired on November 30 with the couples competing for a spot in next week's show.
As Claudia spoke about what was to come she told the live audience and BBC viewers: "We are bringing the West End to the ballroom as we celebrate all things jazz hands." Strictly Come Dancing co-star Tess then added details of a show 'first' saying: "And it promises to be a big night because we have never ever had this many tens going into the quarter final."
After JB Gill and Lauren Oakley wrapped up the show, Shirley Ballas said it was “an iconic performance, immaculate, the night belongs to you”. Anton du Beke told the ITV The X Factor star and Birmingham pro dancer it was “practically perfect in every possible way”.

Craig Revel Horwood, their fellow judge, said “your thumb was sticking up and over-turned pivots, so close to perfection but best dance of this evening”. Motsi Mabuse then moved to conclude “dapper and fantastic flow, you’re so versatile”.
On Pete Wicks, Anton said it was “a disaster downstairs but you’ve come so far in your dancing development, your work out of hold is beautiful”. Craig said he “loves what your brought to it but footwork shoddy, no heel lead, swing nor sway, went completely wrong but it didn’t bother me because the storytelling was engaging”.
Motsi said the "atmosphere transported me, clean it up downstairs”. Shirley told Pete he had “extraordinary frame improvement, sensitive, made mistakes but picked up afterwards” as she gushed over his routine on November 30.
Strictly Come Dancing is on BBC One and BBC iPlayer.
