BBC Strictly Come Dancing star breaks down in tears after viewers realise she'll miss semi-final
BBC Strictly Come Dancing fans are concerned Montell Douglas could be axed from the show after her performance during the quarter final. BBC Gladiators star Montell Douglas burst into tears after her rumba to I’m Here from the musical The Colour Purple, with professional partner Johannes Radebe telling her: “You don’t need to cry.”
The pair also scored 32 for the performance. Strictly Come Dancing judge Anton Du Beke said of the dance: “I was having a little bit of inner turmoil watching you dance, because I could see what was going on, and I decided that you were making a choice, and you made a choice for the stillness.
“I like stillness, it’s as difficult to do as all the flashing about, because it creates an emotion. I thought that was an incredibly powerful, emotional performance, which is what this story was all about. You made a choice, I like the choices you made, that was a wonderful, wonderful performance.”

But taking to Twitter, now X, one fan said: "Please get behind Montell & Johannes tonight. She's put up a fight being in 3 DO's and dancing like that. She is INCREDIBLE," as a fan feared: "About time for Pete to leave but it will probably be Montell."
A third fan predicted: "I can see Montell v Pete in the dance off tonight," backed by another who said: "Montell seems destined for the dance-off." A further comment read: "I think they're setting up Pete and Montell for the dance off," while another said: "All votes to Montell tonight. She doesn't deserve to be in the dance off again."
Fans feared a mixture of her score, the routine, the comments and her running order position could mean bad news. The Strictly Come Dancing results show airs on Sunday at 7.20pm on BBC One.
