BBC Strictly Come Dancing viewers react to Shayne Ward's dramatic transformation
Strictly Come Dancing's grand launch has seen the 15 celebrities hit the dance floor for their debut performances, but it was Shayne Ward's appearance that had the audience talking.
The ex-Corrie actor showcased a new look, swapping his short hair for longer, curly locks. Shayne's new tight ringlets received mixed reactions as he sashayed onto the dance floor with his pro partner Nancy to perform a Samba.
One viewer expressed opinions on Twitter, commenting: "I'm finding Shayne's hair distracting and disturbing #Strictly", another posted: "I keep forgetting who Shayne Ward is. I blame the longer hair. #SCD #Strictly."
A third person wrote: "The biggest revelation of #Strictly is that Shayne Ward has hair." Another added humorously: "I look at Shayne ward with his curly hair and just see Leo Sayer. #Strictly", reports the Mirror.

Strictly has once more begun its glittering journey for 2024 following an exhilarating initial show. Week one sees the celebs join forces with their professional partners for their preliminary chance to earn points on the leaderboard with their routines.
While the judges will share their critiques and the celebs will receive scores, the first week spares all from elimination. It is in week two that stakes are raised, as the competition heats up and one celebrity will bid farewell.
Viewers will have the opportunity to participate when the lines open in week two next Saturday (September 28), and the first elimination of the series will air the following night (Sunday, September 29). All the action tonight will commence at 7pm on BBC One, but there will be no results show this weekend.
Currently leading the betting odds are X Factor victor Shayne Ward and JLS star JB Gill though former professional dancer Erin Boag has cautioned that Miranda star Sarah Hadland is also a contender to keep an eye on.
