Strictly Come Dancing's Amy Dowden has issued a positive health update as she continues her road to recovery. The Welsh dancer was forced to pull of this year's race for the glitterball after she suffered a foot injury.

It is the latest setback the dancer has suffered in a tough few years. The dancer missed out on last year's edition of Strictly as she was diagnosed with breast cancer in May 2023. She underwent a mastectomy and fertility treatment.

Amy regularly keeps fans updated on her health journey and revealed she went for an MRI scan yesterday. The 34-year-old was proud as she revealed she achieved an important milestone.

She told her followers on Instagram: "[Yesterday] I had an MRI and you know I'm so proud of myself. First MRI where I wasn't anxious and triggered (since cancer every scan, every test my heart races).

Amy has been replaced on this season of Strictly by her co-star, Lauren Oakley. Lauren has continued where Amy left off with JB Gill with a series of incredible performances.
