BBC Strictly Come Dancing's Chris McCausland praised for quick dig at Craig Revel Horwood during live show
Chris McCausland has been praised by Strictly Come Dancing viewers after making a quick dig at judge Craig Revel Horwood during the latest live show. Strictly returned to BBC One on Saturday night (September 28) for the second live show of the series which is marking the programme's 20-year anniversary.
Fifteen celebrities and their professional dance partners took to the dancefloor in a bid to impress the judges and viewers at home - who will be able to vote for the first time this series.
Amongst the contestants performing was Chris, who has already won the hearts of viewers following his debut in the BBC dance contest. As Strictly's first blind contestant, he made his debut alongside his professional dance partner Dianne Buswell last weekend during the first live show of the 2024 series.
This Saturday, the comedian returned to the dancefloor to perform a Foxtrot t to Be Young, Be Foolish, Be Happy by The Tams, which landed him a score of 29 from the judges. But it wasn't just his dancing that impressed viewers at home, as they praised him for a hilarious jibe he took at judge Craig live on air.
When asked by host Claudia Winkleman how he was feeling about the night, Chris made a quip to Craig as he said: "By the sounds of how things are going so far, I think Craig is blinder than I am." He then added to Craig: "You've got no technique and your legs aren't straight," which left the judge laughing.
Viewers soon took to X, formerly Twitter, to commend the contestant for his quick humour. @charles_mossman wrote: "Chris McCausland’s comment that Craig must be as blind as him was a laugh out loud moment."
