BBC Strictly Come Dancing's Chris McClausland in disbelief after show 'exit' update as fans confused
Strictly Come Dancing fans were relieved as Chris McCausland's journey continued. The Liverpool comedian is the show's first ever blind contestant and has won over the hearts of fans with his inspiring performances.
The 47-year-old is partnered with Dianne Buswell and the two danced a Paso Doble on Week 10 of the show. Although they finished second bottom on the leaderboard, the public kept them in the competition and Chris will progress to Musical's Week.
In an interview with the ECHO, Chris said he was targeting this week of the competition because it meant Dianne's parents, Mark and Rina, would be able to see her dance for the first time. However, he admitted he has updated his exit tatget in tonight's results show as he joked: "Originally we said we needed to get to this week for them to be here.
"And then what we realised is that we needed to get one more week because it would have been horrible for them to come all this way and then to find out they were a jinx."

Chris reflected on his unexpected success with fellow quarter finalist Pete Wicks as they both shared their disbelief at how well they had performed. He added: "We can't believe we're near anything with the word final in."
Chris is set to perform a routine in Musical Week as he arrives in the quarter final. However, the comedian joked he wasn't so keen on the genre as he said: "I think they're absolutely pointless.
"If it's got kids in it like Matilda, brilliant. It puts a tear in your. If it's got four kids like Lion King, brillliant. It puts a tear in your eye. If it's by adults for adults, grow up."
Viewers following the on social media platform X were thrilled with Chris' continued success. However, some questioned why host Claudia Winkleman didn't ask them about their routine for next week's show.
Jasmin said: "Why haven't they told which song and dance Chris and Dianne will do next week?" Leah posted: "CLAUDIA WHY DO YOU NEVER ASK CHRIS AND DIANNE FOR THE DANCE THEYRE DOING NEXT WEEK"
