Strictly Come Dancing's Claudia Winkleman was left screaming as she ran away from a celebrity on the first live show on Saturday night. The 52-year-old was back with co-host Tess Daly for the big opening night where all 15 celebrities took to the dancefloor for the first time with their pro partners.

But Claudia wasn't impressed as she conducted her first interview with BBC DIY SOS star Nick Knowles and his partner Luba Mushtuk after they were the first to perform. They were scored 18 points from the judges for their Jive to We Built This City by Starship.

After discussing their performance and the scores, Claudia revealed that it was Nick's birthday. She said: "I know you didn't want us to mention it, but we do take birthdays seriously."

She then called out professional dancer Carlos Gu, who missed out on a celebrity partner this year, who brought a huge cake out for the star dressed in a builders hard hat and hi-vis vest. All of the celebrities and dancers started singing happy birthday to the star.

But things quickly took a turn as Carlos grabbed a handful of cake and shoved it in Nick's face, covering him with cream and icing. Nick then turned his attention to Claudia as he ran after her with the cake, threatening to do the same to her.

She screamed 'No Nick! The orange!," referring to her famous tan. She ran off stage away from the presenter before returning and remarking 'Naughty Carlos!"

Strictly Come Dancing continues next Saturday on BBC One and BBC iPlayer. Week two will see the first elimination from the competition as a celebrity and their partner is sent home for the first time.
