BBC Strictly Come Dancing's Jamie Borthwick admits 'disappointment' over judges' words
Eastenders actor Jamie Borthwick has has admitted he felt ‘disappointed’ with his performance on Strictly Come Dancing.
The BBC companion show It Takes Two showed clips of Borthwick performing the Argentine Tango with dance partner Michelle Tsiakkas. Judge Shirley Ballas could be seen lambasting the performance, on Saturday, calling it ‘overtried’ and ‘stiff’.
Asked about whether he’d do the Argentine Tango again, Jamie Borthwick said: “Other than the rumba, it probably would. I felt healthily disappointment, is how I am describing it, after Saturday. Mainly because we’d had such a fantastic week doing that with lovely Leandro and Mariah, who I fell in love with last week.

“Whilst they said they were very happy with what we did, it would have been nice to have the kind of appreciation from the judges and for them to…but I totally understand what they were saying about one or two little balancing issues and whatever.”
Jamie went on to say he still enjoyed the previous week, including the Argentine tango, the song and working with his dance partner Michelle.
Michelle said: “So many people commented on ‘Look at Michelle’s foot work,’ ‘Look at Michelle, she looks amazing,’ I would not have looked amazing without you. You are the reason.
“You made me learn all that stuff and the Argentine tango is so difficult for a male celeb, it has to be said. It requires so much control, strength, lead. Which you know is so difficult, and you did all of that and made me look amazing, and you didn’t get enough credit for it.”
