Former Strictly Come Dancing star Janette Manrara has candidly shared the challenges she's faced since becoming a mother nearly a year ago. Janette, who now hosts the Strictly spin-off show It Takes Two, welcomed her daughter Lyra with fellow Strictly professional Aljaz Skorjanec ten months ago.

The new mum has spoken openly about the exhaustion and difficulties of parenthood. On Instagram, Janette expressed her fatigue with a straightforward post, stating: "I'm dead! ". She humorously added about her daughter: "It's a good thing you're cute! ".

In a recent video, Janette discussed some specific struggles, revealing: "I ended up having to bring a pillow and a blanket and let her just release her energy in the play area. "Oh my God, she didn't go back to sleep until six in the morning!"

During the video, Lyra appeared, placing her hand on her mother's arm and smiling at her weary mum.", reports the Mirror.

Despite feeling exhausted, Janette's spirits lifted as she shared: "I'm exhausted - it's a good thing you're cute! She's never gotten up and stayed up for that long - but it happens. I am in desperate need of any tips and advice on how you cope with a ten-month-old on a long haul flight. It's nine and a half hours and they always say you're more nervous because you don't want to interrupt someone - the other people on the flight - but I also want her to just to be okay! ".

Following this, Janette disclosed her ongoing skin treatment journey, having neglected sunscreen use previously. In April, she had her second session of microneedling, aiming to improve her skin's pigmentation after years of sun exposure in Miami.

Janette expressed: "Had my second session of micro-needling today w/ @theaestheticsdoctor. We've been working together to help with my pigmentation from years of not being careful in the sun in Miami! (Side note: WEAR SUNSCREEN! )."

She continued, revealing that her daughter Lyra accompanied her during the treatment due to lack of childcare, behaving exceptionally well throughout. Janette noted: "I didn't have anyone to look after Lyra so she came along. Luckily she behaved so, so well. Such a proud mummy! We went a little deeper this time w/ the needles, but it was not too painful at all. Now we wait for the skin to naturally rejuvenate over the next few days."

Janette concluded with praise for her doctor, emphasizing her preference for natural approaches to skincare: "I love #DrAhmed because he understands that I want to work on my skin, but as naturally as possible. I'm not afraid of aging, but if I can give myself a little boost and help, why not? ".
