BBC Strictly Come Dancing's Pete Wicks looks deflated as he reveals Jowita Pryzstal's warning in semi-final update

Pete Wicks appeared deflated as he spoke about his latest round of training for Strictly Come Dancing with Jowita Przystal. The pair made it through to the penultimate round of the competition after taking part in the quarter-final last weekend.

The last live show on Saturday night (November 30) also marked Strictly's Musicals Week, and saw the remaining couples perform to a famous song from the stage.

And it was a tough night for podcast host and reality star Pete and professional dancer Jowita as they finished up at the bottom of the leaderboard with their waltz to Somewhere from West Side Story, scoring 26 out of a possible 40 points from the judges.

Despite the low score, Pete and Jowita sailed through to Strictly's semi-final, which takes place this Saturday night (December 7) and will see the remaining five couples in the 2024 run of the competition perform two dances each.

It's been confirmed that the pair will perfrom an Argentine Tango to Bittersweet by Symphony The Verve as well as a Foxtrot to Beyond The Sea by Bobby Darin.

Following another day of training, Pete and Jowita took to social media on Wednesday evening (December 4) to offer an update. They could be seen sitting on the floor of their rehearsal room as a smiley Jowita asked a frowning Pete: "How are you feeling?" With his head in his hands, the former TOWIE star replied: "Tired. Very tired."

He added: "Two dances, half the time..." to which Jowita commented: "Two completely different dances..." Pete said they have been describing the two dances differently, with one being 'cute' and the other being 'sexy'.

Jowita went on to ask Pete which he liked better to which he said: "I mean, I don't think I strike anyone as a cute person, so it's not that one. I'm far from cute. To be honest with you, I'm far from sexy... They are very different dances." Jowita interjected: "But we're enjoying both of them, right?" to which Pete said: "Yes, we are. I am very happy I finally get to do the Argentine Tango."

He explained he previously got a warning from Jowita about the possibility of the dance, revealing: "From week one, because it's my favourite dance to watch, I said to her [Jowita] I really want to do that but she said to me, 'You're only going to do that in the semi-final' and so I thought, 'Well, I've got no chance of doing that!'" He added: "I didn't ever think I'd get the chance to do it and I'm so pleased I have because I thought I'd like it and I think it's my favourite dance so far."
