BBC Strictly Come Dancing's Tess Daly 'steps in' over co-star's wardrobe malfunction
Tom Dean's routine on Strictly Come Dancing was thrown into chaos on Saturday night - after a glaring wardrobe error. The Olympian and his dance partner Nadiya Bychkova were the first to take to the dance floor this week with a Cha Cha to Earth, Wind and Fire's Boogie Wonderland.
The pair stepped out in matching dazzling costumes but midway through their routine, BBC pro dancer Nadiya's costume got caught, causing her to make a slight stumble. Strictly Come Dancing presenter Tess Daly then went on to add a little bit more detail for those viewers who may not have known what had happened.
She commented: "We had a little costume malfunction! It ripped on her leg." Giving feedback, head judge on the show Shirley Ballas told Tom “you stood straighter, tiny mishap on Nadiya’s part but you coped well and carried on”. Anton du Beke, her co-judge, went next and said it was “very dynamic but hesitant in places”.

Craig Revel-Horwood went next and told Tom and Nadiya tonight “you didn’t look comfortable in your body, lacked fluidity, hips stiff, arms too loose, dance to your height, that’s enough for week two”. Motsi Mabuse, meanwhile, also had her say.
Motsi concluded “good student, clean steps, improved energy”. Following Tom and Nadiya tonight, former footballer Paul Merson and dance partner Karen Hauer's salsa to Pitbull's Fireball was met with scores of 2, 4, 4 and a 5 from the judges - making a total of 15.
Later, Radio host Wynne Evans' Viennese waltz with his partner Katya Jones received some praise from the judges. Sharing her thoughts on his process in the competition, Shirley Ballas told him: "It's all coming together."
Strictly Come Dancing continues to air on BBC One and also on BBC Strictly Come Dancing each and every weekend.
