BBC Strictly Come Dancing's Wynne Evans and Katya Jones say 'sorry' after awkward exchange
Strictly Come Dancing stars Wynne Evans and Katya Jones were left issuing an apology to fans after they sparked concern in the ballroom.
The pair were back performing live in the BBC One dance contest on Saturday night (October 12) and were among those scoring highly as week four of the competition got underway.
Welsh opera singer Wynne and professional partner Katya's tango to Abba’s Money, Money, Money scored them an impressive 34 points from the judges, with Motsi Mabuse enthusing: "This is why I love Strictly Come Dancing."
However, the dancing couple have been forced to address fans after an awkward exchangs from the latest live episode of Strictly 2024 was shared widely on social media.
It showed Wynne appearing to attempt to give her two high-fives, only for her to turn around and leave him hanging. Addressing fans in a video posted on X, formerly known as Twitter, Katya began: "Hello everybody it's Wynne and Katya here.
"We just wanted to say we were just messing around in the Clauditorium on Saturday night and just want to say sorry. It was a silly joke." Wynne added: "Yes sorry."
In the caption, Wynne added: "Apologies for this tonight we were just messing around. We really are amazing friends. The high 5's is a running joke. Have a great evening @katyajones."
Meanwhile, Strictly viewers were full of praise for their latest rotuine - but mainly for Katya's choregraphy. @lungowe said: "Wynne was the best dance of the night #strictly." @Clarejs85 commented: "Absolutely love Wynne, he's surprising himself and that was a brilliant dance #StrictlyComeDancing."
