BBC Strictly Come Dancing's Wynne Evans exit 'sealed' as he makes 'heartbroken' admission
Excitement is building ahead of tonight's episode of Strictly Come Dancing. The race for the Glitterball enters week five as 12 celebrities remain in the BBC contest.
Wynne Evans and Katya Jones's hopes of winning the contest suffered a blow last week when fans were convinced they spotted an awkward moment between the two. Fans on social media were taken aback when Katya appeared to move Wynne's hand from her waist and later snubbed his high-five.
Katya and Wynne have since cleared up the confusion and played the incident down as an "inside joke". The two appeared on Monday's It Takes Two and Katya strongly dismissed claims she was made to feel uncomfortable.
She said: "Quite frankly I can't bear sitting here watching this man being portrayed as someone he is not. In fact, it couldn't be further away from the truth so I have to make this absolutely clear, this whole incident with the hand and the high five on Saturday night, was an inside joke between Wynne and I. Was it a silly joke, yes, was it a bad joke, yes."

She added: "Even the idea that it made me feel uncomfortable or offended in any way is total nonsense. Those who have doubts, you guys have got it wrong.
"Hopefully this will be the end of it and he can just keep making me smile please, because my Sunday was pretty boring without you making me belly laugh all day long."
On his Radio Wales show, Wynne said he was devastated by the backlash the moment has received it. The 52-year-old, renowned for his role on the Go Compare adverts, said: "I'm absolutely heartbroken by the things that have been written about me in the last day."
He added: "It's not nice to live in that time, but basically Katya and I are really, really close and we're really good friends, and on Saturday night we made a stupid joke.
"It was a stupid joke that went wrong, OK? We thought it was funny. It wasn't funny. It was been totally misinterpreted."
The two hope they can overcome last week's controversy and stay in the competition when they perform a Quickstep to Mr. Blue Sky by Electric Light Orchestra. The signs seemed ominous for Wynne and Katya as the odds of their exit halved from 14/1 to 7/1.
Former Strictly winner, Ola Jordan, also believes the two could be at risk. Speaking to Mecca Bingo, she said: "Wynne could be at risk this weekend too. It’s a tricky one because I would never think they would be in the bottom two, but, after the incident that's gone on this week, maybe he’s at risk this weekend. The public don't like to be messed about, if they think something is going on, they're just not going to like it, and they won’t vote for them.”
“But they’re doing really well in the competition, and I don't want them to go out because I think they're a good couple and they're doing well. I really like the Tango they did last week, so it would be a shame if they are in the bottom two.
"But if they are in the bottom two, they will most likely be saved by the judges because they're quite good. If they find themselves in the bottom two with anyone who is not as good, for example, Paul [Merson], then they will be saved.”
Ola, who lifted the Glitterball in 2009, thinks the retired Arsenal legend and Dr Punam Krishan are also at risk this weekend as she said: "I think Dr Punam and Paul could be two of the weakest celebrities on Strictly.”
“Paul is dancing to the Samba this weekend which is tricky for anyone, let alone Paul. He's just going to have bent legs all over the place, like he has in previous dances.”
“Punam’s going to have a lovely ballroom frame, and she's going to be just dancing around the dancefloor with Gorka, so she's got more of a chance to do better. She will have a better chance in the scoring as well.
"Even if she's in the bottom two against Paul, for example, she could probably do better than him – she's probably safe.” Strictly Come Dancing continues tonight at 6.25pm
