Giovanni Pernice has been at the forefront of drama as of late, with ex-partners of the Italian dancer coming forward to throw 'abuse' claims at him, as he stepped down from the BBC show.

Strictly Come Dancing judge Anton Du Beke appears to have broken his silence, with an indirect sign of support for the star. It comes following reports some of his fellow professional dancers have seemingly 'snubbed' Giovanni since the news.

It was reported previously three previous dance partners, who were paired with Giovanni on Strictly Come Dancing, have come forward to raise complaints on his conduct and alleged 'strict' training style behind closed doors.

Giovanni strongly denies the claims brought forward. However, Anton appears to be strengthening his ties with the star after announcing their tour together, reports the Daily Star.

Anton and Giovanni: Together - The Live Tour will kick off in three weeks, June 14. It will start off in London's Beck Theatre, before the pair grace stages across the UK together over the next few months.

The Strictly judge and dancer have formed a strong friendship, following their travel show - Anton & Giovanni’s Adventures in Sicily. The programme, which aired on BBC earlier this year, has reportedly been axed for another series.

Following the announcement of their tour, the BBC are currently looking into the complaints raised against the Italian dancer. Amanda Abbington and Laura Whitmore are allegedly two individuals who have come forward, as Giovanni fights to clear his name.

Elsewhere, Korina Travis, a professional dancer who has previously worked alongside Giovanni, shared her experiences. Korina said: "I've known him for years as a fellow competitor and he has done horrendous things to me.

"I will not speak about my experiences with him but I'm glad the world is seeing him for who he truly is. I'll leave it at that."

Giovanni categorically denies the claims, as he issued a statement which read: "To my dear fans, you will be as surprised as I am that allegations have been made about my dance teaching methods in the media this week.

"Of course, I reject any suggestion of abusive or threatening behaviour, and I look forward to clearing my name." Those who have followed my journey on Strictly Come Dancing over the last decade will know that I am passionate and competitive.

"No one is more ambitious for my dance partners than me. I have always striven to help them be the very best dancers they can be. This has always come from a place of love and wanting to win - for me and my dance partners. Thank you all once again for your continued love and support!"
