Yahoo News BBC unveils first-look at new 1930s-set Agatha Christie with Mimi Keene
The BBC has released a first-look at new Agatha Christie adaptation Towards Zero starring Sex Education’s Mimi Keene.
The series, which was confirmed back in June, is set in the 1930s and follows a recently-divorced couple – Neville and Audrey – who decide to spend a summer together at their childhood home and the estate of Neville’s aunt Lady Tressilian.
However, tensions run high, which are exacerbated by the arrival of Neville’s new wife Kay (Keene) – and coupled with a host of other characters, a murder takes place.

The first pictures have now emerged, showing Keene in character as she gets intimate on a beach with Oliver Jackson-Cohen’s Neville.
Also shown are Oscar-winner Anjelica Huston as Lady Tressilian in bed, as well as Ella Lily Hyland as Kay and Matthew Rhys’s Inspector Leach, who must “untangle a toxic web of jealousy, deceit and dysfunction” before a potential further murder.
Towards Zero will also star Jackie Clune, Grace Doherty, Jack Farthing, Khalil Gharbia, Adam Hugill, Clarke Peters and Anjana Vasan – some of whom are also pictured.

“These are among the richest and most complex of Christie's characters, and I was captivated from the first by the charisma, in particular, of her female characters,” said writer Rachel Bennette.
“It has been thrilling to bring them all to life in this disturbing tale of truth and lies, love and hate, a story which unfolds amidst the dark, cinematic glamour of the 1930s, yet feels startlingly of our time.”

Director, Sam Yates added: “It has been an honour to bring this most psychological and sensual of Agatha Christie's stories to vibrant life with a peerless cast of actors and an extraordinary team.
“Audiences are in for a propulsive, intoxicating ride into the dark hearts of some of Christie's most irresistible characters.”
Towards Zero will air in 2025 on BBC One and BBC iPlayer in the UK, and BritBox in the US and Canada.
