A popular beachside restaurant and bar is on the hunt for customers who it overcharged by "a considerable amount". The Welloe charged some customers nearly ten times what it should have during breakfast service earlier this month.

The Praa Sands restaurant, which offers pizza, burgers and seafood, said it was an "honest mistake" and was desperately trying to track down those involved to pay back the money. It said it had exhausted all avenues to locate them but nobody had come forward.

It relates to a breakfast meal served on Sunday, November 3. The customers spent just £62.70 but were mistakingly billed £620.07. Unfortunately, they have not yet noticed or come forward, and the restaurant, between Helston and Penzance, believes they may have paid with a credit card.

The Welloe, appealing for help on social media as a last resort, said: "On the morning of Sunday November 3, we have accidentally overcharged someone (by a considerable amount!)."

It urged anyone who was in for breakfast that day to check their bank statements and contact the business immediately if it was them. "We have tried all other avenues of contacting this person, with no luck, and would very much like to rectify this honest mistake," it added, saying: "Please, no time wasters - we have the image ID on CCTV of the person involved."
