Bear Found Roaming Castle Rock Safely Relocated to National Forest

A black bear who was found up a tree in Castle Rock, Colorado, was released safely into a nearby national forest on Thursday, September 16.

Police said the bear was spotted near Mikelson Boulevard and Brantly Avenue on Wednesday morning, with parents urged to ensure their children would avoid the area on their walk to school.

Colorado Parks and Wildlife officials released footage of what they called the “safe relocation effort,” adding that the animal was “a healthy bear already with adequate fat stores on it for the season.”
