Bears Help Open Box of Tasty Treats at New York Sanctuary

A pair of rescued bears at the Orphaned Wildlife Center in Otisville, New York, were excited to see what was in a box of donations sent to the sanctuary on May 28.

Footage shared by the center shows Syrian brown bears Jenny and Amy sniffing at the package being opened by Jim Kowalczic, who runs the sanctuary with his wife, Susan, and their friend Kerry Clair.

“Our organization often receives donations from our fans and followers. This week we got a whole box of pecans,” Clair, who filmed the video, told Storyful.

She added that Jenny and Amy are cousins, and are not able to be released back into the wild, so have been provided a lifetime of care at the Orphaned Wildlife Center. Credit: Kerry Clair via Storyful
