The beautiful London registry office that feels like it's in the countryside
Planning a wedding these days can cause a bigger headache than the prosecco at your engagement party. Between the venue, catering, outfits, and entertainment, you're looking at quite the hefty bill to declare your undying love.
Thankfully, registry offices can offer a slightly cheaper alternative to the sprawling mansion or quaint churches typically chosen for a ceremony - and Morden has a beautiful one. Plus, getting hitched in a registry office is considered très chic so your wedding will be effortlessly timeless.
The biggest appeal of Morden Park House is its dreamy location. Nestled in Morden Park, the Georgian manor boasts sweeping lawns and period features reminiscent of Bridgerton.

Couples can choose from three main rooms: Sheridan, Lord Nelson and Ewart. The classic white and silver Sheridan space is the perfect choice for those looking for a intimate affair as it only seats 30 guests.
Here, you say 'I do' in front of French windows that open directly onto the park, before snapping pictures on the striking staircase at the centre of the house. In 2025/26, it will cost £325 to rent on Thursday and Friday, £375 on Saturday and £700 for Sunday and events outside normal hours.
The Lord Nelson features lovely lemon and blue walls, bay windows, crystal chandelier and views over the house's courtyard. Up to 50 guests can be in attendance, with the space costing £350-£725 for 2025/26.
The grandest of all is the Ewart, which will set you back £625-£825. Decorated in cream and deep purple, this 100-capacity room is one for those dreaming of 18th-century splendour.
Situated atop the grand staircase, its bronze chandeliers and draped curtains add a touch of luxury. There is also plenty of space for live music, such as a string quartet.
The newlyweds can also opt to hold their summer ceremony in a wooden gazebo in the manicured courtyard. The wedding party can walk through rose-lined trellised arches for a romantic entrance before enjoying a drinks reception in the garden.
Hiring this will cost you £675-£950 in 2025/26. A vintage-style marquee, complete with a dancefloor and bar, can also be erected for the evening reception.
Morden Park House is also semi dog-friendly and offers couples the chance to meet their registrar and rehearse the ceremony ahead of the big day. For more information, visit the venue's website.
