Research has shown that the ultimate age-preventing hack is to make sure you have a good skincare routine. While this sounds easy, it can be easy to get lost in the aisles of products with products seeing to be more expensive than they should be.

To help, beauty expert BeautyByNori shared a video on TikTok of her travelling to her nearest Boots to show how you can create a whole skincare routine for under £40.

"Let's do Boots must haves for under £40, let's start with skincare," Nori began the video, showing her walking into the shop before walking towards the skincare aisle. "We are in the Boots skincare section and we are going to get a lot of our items from here. We need a moisturiser, SPF, we need an eye cream, toner, and a face wash."

The first product she added to her basket the Boots Cucumber Eye Gel for £1.50, or £1.35 if you have a Boots Advantage card, which she claimed was great for depuffing your eyes, and if you have sensitive eyes.

She went on to show two other eye creams, which were the Caffeine Eye Cream (£6), which she argued was good for de-puffing and dark eyebags, and the Retinol Eye Cream, which she said was better for preventing wrinkles and fine lines.

"I am 30 years plus, so I will be going for the retinol," she said as she added the £7 cream (or £.6.30 with Advantage card) into her basket.

As for toners, she picked up the Boots Traditional Glycerine and Rose Water (£2.50 or £2.25 with Advantage card), and said: "Toners can be super super simple and I would actually get this over the milky one from Byoma. Rosewater has amazing anti-aging properties and the glycerine has amazing hydrating properties, so this is the one that I'll be picking up."

She continued: "You can get a really affordable cream if you like, and this is a really good one from Boots" showing the Boots Moisturising cream for £1.50, or £1.35 with an Advantage card.

Nori also picked up the Boots hypochlorous acid Deep Moisture Spray, for £5 which she explained was a moisturising spray that's also antibacterial.

For cleansers, she got the Oat Cleansing Balm, which is £9, or £8.10 with an Advantage card, as it was good for double cleansing and for if you have sensitive skin.

"I love oats in skincare products because it's really good for sensitive skin," she said.

She moved on to serums, saying: "We need some sort of active skincare serum. I have an issue with acne, blocked pores, and really big sebaceous filament on my nose, so I'll be getting some salicylic acid - this is 2% which is really good to start off with" before getting the £7 (or £6.30 with an Advantage card) serum into her basket.

She also got some £1 (or 90p with Advantage card) skin wipes, and a Bondi Sands SPF 50 sunscreen for £7.99, before realising she had enough money left to pick up a lip balm, opting for the Boots mint-flavoured lip balm for £2.50.

As she got to the till to pay, the total came to £44.99, but that quickly went down to £37.59 after scanning her Advantage card for discounts.

"Under £40 and I managed to get extras like the serum and the lip balm," she said.
