Beef season 2 addressed by creator Lee Sung JinNetflix

Netflix viewers were left wanting more Beef after binging season one of the show earlier this year.

Since then, rumours of season two have been flying around, but with no confirmation.

With the continued WGA and SAG-AFTRA strike in the US impacting many shows, recent casualties include A League of Their Own and The Peripheral which were not taken forward for a second season. Will Beef make it to a second instalment?

Beef's Amy (Ali Wong) and Danny (Steven Yeun) took their vengeance to the next level in season one when a bout of road rage escalated to stalking, vandalism and much more.

Beef creator Lee Sung Jin has revealed that he would "love to make more" but is unclear on what direction a future season would go in and when it would even begin due to the strikes.

Talking to The Hollywood Reporter, Lee said: “We initially pitched the show as an anthology series where every season is a new beef with new characters."

He continued: "At the same time, I really love Danny and Amy and George (Joseph Lee) and Paul (Young Mazino) and the world we created. So, I'm really open to it all."

It wasn't just the cast that he gushed over.

Lee added: "Most importantly, I really want to keep working with this crew that I've really fallen in love with. But it's hard for me to say which direction we'll go without a writers room and any sort of momentum, so I'm really hoping the AMPTP [Alliance of Motion Picture and Television Producers] comes to its senses.”

Steven Yeun previously told Digital Spy: "We don't even know if there's a season two."

Fans will have to stay tuned to see if the show gets a second outing.

Beef season 1 is available on Netflix.
