From being one of Staffordshire's most-booked restaurants to shut inside 60 days

It was listed as one of Stoke-on-Trent and Staffordshire's most-booked restaurants - just weeks after opening. The Bistro Quarters oozed class and opulence and had the former Manchester City chef Mark Walker in charge.

The top-end restaurant - on Basford Bank - had been years in the making. Its accompanying beauty salon was due to open later this year.

But - just 60 days after opening - The Bistro Quarters has closed and is heading towards liquidation. Its website and Facebook page have this week disappeared from the internet.

A notice on the Beauty and the Bistro website states: "It is with a very heavy heart that due to a lack of trade, Beauty and the Bistro has closed and we are now in the process of placing the company into liquidation. If you purchased a voucher, these will form part of the liquidation process. Thank you for your understanding at this difficult time."

Online booking platform OpenTable had listed The Bistro Quarters in its top three most-booked restaurants in January. It carried reviews of diners wanting to return. And that will now never happen now.

A reviewer said: “Beautifully cooked food, presented lovely, tasted amazing and all home cooked, cocktails and wine were lovely too but the staff make it more perfect for me how they make the time to come over and talk to you and have a conversation and are really pleasant and friendly. It's our second time here now and will definitely be returning again and again!”

Another happy customer said: “It’s a pleasure to review somewhere that is all good and no bad. The venue is superb. The décor is beautiful. Comfort and facilities are excellent. The food is wonderful. Both staff and service are exceptional. I have visited Beauty and the Bistro twice for evening meals, I simply can’t fault it and will certainly be back again in the near future.”

And a third said: "What a diamond of a restaurant this is. Food is out of this world, I’ve never been lost for words before now. Owner and staff cannot do enough to make your meal an experience of a life time. All cooked fresh and no artificial stuff in it. To me this is going to be my go to place with friends and family. Can’t wait to try their Sunday lunch."
