Belarusian President Alexander Lukashenko says that the European Union is refusing to discuss the fate of 2,000 migrants wishing to enter the EU and stranded in Belarus. The West accuses Belarus of engineering the crisis in revenge for sanctions slapped on Lukashenko's regime after its brutal suppression of protests against his rule.
