Belfast musician Jordan Adetunji nominated for Grammy Award

A musician from Belfast has been nominated for a Grammy Award for Best Melodic Rap performance.

Belfast rapper Jordan Adetunji was shortlisted in the category alongside the likes of Beyoncé and The Weeknd for his song 'Kehlani', which has reached over 300 million streams worldwide.

Reacting to the news, Jordan posted on Instagram saying: "This is for anyone that believes they aren't good enough or can't. YOU CAN. No matter where you're from.

"Did this from my bedroom in Belfast with a 100 pound interface. And my mum always supporting me even when I would record late as ever."

Jordan was born in the Croydon area of London and moved to Belfast when he was 10. His music career started off by posting rap videos to Facebook, before adding other elements such as guitar into his music.

His music went viral on TikTok, leading to Jordan being signed by RCA Records, after Bring Me The Horizon's Oli Sykes spotted a song of his called 'Woke Up.

Building up his own following, Jordan went on to release his debut mixtape, titled Rock 'n' Rave, in 2023. The 67th Grammy Awards will take place in Los Angeles on February 2, 2025.
