N-Dubz star Tulisa is one of twelve famous faces taking on jungle life in the latest series of I'm a Celebrity. Despite previously saying she would never consider the challenge show she had a change of heart this year as she headed down under.

Ahead of her jungle stint she said: "I have always said I wouldn’t do this show in the past, as there are things that have terrified me. But the person I am now, I want to throw caution to the wind.”

Since entering the jungle, the former X Factor judge has been supported by Rylan Clark after negative comments began circulating about her appearance. Taking to X, formerly known as Twitter, the BBC Radio 2 host urged fans to stop making jokes about the appearance of the 36-year-old.

He said: "Also before people start going for appearance, Tulisa has been through a lot health wise the last few years so let’s not make shit jokes about her on twitter yeah." Tulisa has been open about her health battle as she suffers from Bell's palsy. According to the NHS, the condition is a temporary weakness or lack of movement that usually affects one side of the face.

The I'm A Celeb contestant claimed on Loose Women in 2020 that her condition stems from when she suffered nerve damage after a serious horse riding incident. The singer appeared on Olivia Attwood's So Wrong, It's Right podcast this year and revealed she suffered her first Bell's Palsy attack when she was aged 24.

Tulisa said she hid in the house during this time before she decided to get fillers to "try and balance it out". However, she was still suffering from discomfort due to the impact of Bell's palsy.

Symptoms of Bell's palsy listed on the NHS website

Symptoms of Bell's palsy include:

  • weakness on 1 side of your face, or not being able to move 1 side of your face – this usually happens over a few days

  • a drooping eyelid or corner of your mouth

  • drooling

  • a dry mouth

  • loss of taste

  • a dry or watering eye

The NHS advise you may also find it difficult to close the eye on the weak side of your face. Rarely, you may not be able to move both sides of your face. You should ask for an urgent GP appointment or get help from NHS 111 if you have symptoms of Bell's Palsy.
