Ben Affleck told friends that he wanted to rekindle his relationship with Jennifer Garner after their split, it has been claimed.

Reports suggest that Affleck was keen to win his wife of 10 years back after they filed for divorce in April 2017 and that the pair tried to reunite but to no avail.

A source told Us Weekly: “He’s begged her to come back several times, but she has no interest.

“She put her heart and soul into fixing the relationship and wanted so desperately to turn things around for the children’s sake as well as theirs.

She forgave him for so much, and still he couldn’t change,” added an insider to the publication.

However, another source denied Affleck was “looking back”, telling the magazine: “When they filed and decided they were moving on, that was it.”

Elsewhere in the article – which appears in the latest edition of the magazine - another source revealed that a reconciliation looked “possible” for a short time, as Garner supported father of her three children Affleck through rehab.

The source explained: “When Ben was in rehab, Jennifer was there every day, visiting. They did family counselling to work on their relationship.

“Things looked positive. Jennifer was very caring, very present. They both wanted it to work.”

Standard Online has contacted representatives for Garner and Affleck for comment.
