Ben Fogle confronts Piers Morgan and Susanna Reid after he is 'dropped' from GMB schedule
Piers Morgan is not known for his apologising much, but he said sorry to Ben Fogle today after the TV presenter was “dropped” from the Good Morning Britain schedule.
The former Countryfile host took to Twitter to express his disappointment after he was axed from the news programme, tweeting Piers and his co-host Susanna Reid.
He wrote: “Dear @piersmorgan and @susannareid100 I hope you found the dating guru more fulfilling than my dropped Single Use plastics segment? Here’s a link to the story in case you care (sic)”
Piers replied: “Ben, very sorry you were dropped at last minute for the schoolteacher (not the dating d**k) interview. Please come back next week so we can discuss this vital issue properly. (sic)”
@piersmorgan in all seriousness this is not about me. It’s about single use plastics. The Treasury were watching today. We missed an opportunity to generate public reaction ahead of the budget. Take a read of my Telegraph comment https://t.co/xamwLsYi9I

I’m afraid @GMB have decided to drop the segment on single use plastics. Sorry everyone. I tried.

Cut off air by ITV on Monday talking about animal welfare and pulled off air by ITV on Wednesday from talking about single use plastics. Maybe I am just too boring……

While Ben appeared to see the funny side of Piers poking fun at Richard, he was disappointed the programme missed an opportunity to highlight the campaign A Plastic Planet, which is calling for plastic-free aisles in supermarkets to protect the ocean, on the day of the Budget.
He tweeted: “Thanks. It’s my children you need to apologise to. I’ll come back as long as you don’t drop me for Dick again.

Ben also joked that he might be “too boring” for TV after a technical issue at BT Tower took his This Morning interview off-air on Monday.
