Ben & Jerry's And Tony's Chocolonely Just Joined Forces To Launch A New Ice Cream

Nothing gets us quite as excited as the launch of a brand-new ice cream (what can we say, we love the stuff). But not just any ice cream, we're talking about the reigning champions of ice cream — Ben & Jerry's. Now, team that up with a great cause, and you're onto something pretty cracking.

New for 2022, Ben & Jerry's has partnered up with Tony's Chocolonely — aka *the* ethical chocolate brand of ethical chocolate brands — to launch Chocolatey Love A-Fair, a new ice cream flavour inspired by Tony's popular Milk Caramel Sea Salt chocolate bar.

Featuring an indulgent chocolate ice cream packed with salted caramel swirls, along with chocolate and caramel chunks, we're already drooling just thinking about it... And did we mention it's available in a non-dairy variety too?

But what makes this tub of ice cream extra-special is the fact that the cocoa beans are sourced through Tony’s Open Chain, which helps companies take steps to end modern slavery and child labour in the chocolate industry. Told you, a great cause!

Cheryl Pinto, Ben & Jerry's Global Head of Values-led Sourcing said, We began this journey seven years ago, when we first partnered with Fairtrade co-ops in Côte d’Ivoire, and this is the exciting next step in our cocoa journey as we amplify our commitment to farmers, equity, and ethical sourcing,”

“Tony’s Open Chain enables us to combine traceability with sourcing principles that naturally align to Ben & Jerry’s mission and supports cocoa farmers to meet high standards on social and environmental practices while strengthening their co-operative.”

“Embracing the 5 Sourcing Principles of Tony’s Open Chain means unlocking the key elements to driving strong trading relationships and thriving cocoa communities," Cheryl said, “We are serious about chocolatey ice cream, and we are eager to join forces with Tony's Open Chain as a Mission Ally, on a delicious journey towards a more ethical future for cocoa production that all chocolate lovers deserve!”

You can get your hands on a tub of Chocolatey Love A-Fair in a local supermarket near you from September, for £5.49.

Not stopping there, the two have also created not one, but two brand-new chocolate bars inspired by Ben & Jerry's ice cream flavours. The first takes inspiration from B&J's Dark Milk Chocolate Brownie, and the second takes inspiration from White Chocolate Strawberry Cheesecake.

But before you jump for joy over new Tony's, we have to tell you that these guys aren't available until 2023. Think of it this way though — that's only another five months away?
