Ben Platt dropped a video for his cover of Lady Gaga’s “Yoü And I” to mark the release of Born This Way Reimagined.

The Dear Evan Hansen star is one of the final artists revealed for the 10th anniversary edition of Lady Gaga’s Born This Way, which includes six covers by artists “representing and advocating for” the LGBT+ community.

Platt drops Brian May’s electric guitar (as featured on Gaga’s original) for handclaps, tambourines and emoting, slinking around the back room of a pub all puppy dog eyes and hand gestures.

“Thank you Lady Gaga for letting me live this fantasy,” Ben Platt tweeted, sharing the video.

The “Yoü And I” cover is one of two final tracks to be unveiled from Born This Way Reimagined, the other being “Highway Unicorn (Road to Love)” by The Highwomen (the country supergroup formed of Brandi Carlile, Natalie Hemby, Maren Morris), featuring Brittney Spencer and Madeline Edwards.

Other, previously released covers include “Judas” by Big Freedia, “Born This Way (The Country Road Version)” by Orville Peck, “Marry the Night” by Kylie Minogue and “The Edge of Glory” by Years & Years.

The reissued album comes 10 years and two months after the original’s release.

Born This Way was trailed by its title track, a defiant anthem for LGBT+ equality with the lyric: “No matter gay, straight, or bi, lesbian, transgender life, I’m on the right track baby, I was born to survive.”

Following an event to mark the album’s 10th anniversary, Gaga revealed the origins of “Born This Way”

“Born This Way, my song and album, were inspired by Carl Bean, a gay black religious activist who preached, sung and wrote about being ‘Born This Way’,” she tweeted.

“Notably his early work was in 1975, 11 years before I was born.”

The revelation came after Gaga was handed the key to West Hollywood.
