The presenter juggles numerous work commitments and while the two shows’ filming schedules do not usually clash, changes due to the pandemic mean he’ll have to miss GMB.
Garraway, 53, and Shephard, 45, are currently covering for Piers Morgan and Susanna Reid while they enjoy summer holidays.
Speaking during Wednesday’s show, Garraway revealed: "This is Ben's last day, you are going to have a bit of time off."
"Yes but it's no time off,” he replied. "Tipping Point is back at it. Back in the studio, we are all back at it, it is all socially distanced, so the set has had to change to make sure everybody's OK."
"I am not going to be here but I am not going on a holiday. I am going to be working but not in the studio."
It’s unclear how long Shephard will be off our screens and GMB bosses are yet to announce who will replace him.
They have a whole host of regular guest presenters to call on, including show regulars Ranvir Singh and Charlotte Hawkins.
Richard Madeley and Adil Ray have both recently stepped in too.
Garraway returned to GMB last month after taking time off when her husband Derek Draper was admitted to hospital with coronavirus.
Draper, 52, has since tested negative for the virus but faces a huge struggle in recovering from the “extraordinary damage” Covid-19 caused to his entire body.
