Best Christmas pantomimes in Liverpool and Merseyside for 2024

The festive season is fast approaching and with it comes an array of colourful pantomimes for the whole family to enjoy. Whether you want something cheeky and fun or a modern retelling of a classic Disney fairy-tale, you won't be short of options.

Thankfully, pantomimes are held in theatres, halls and stages all over Merseyside. Some of the best shows take place in local community centres so don't overlook what could be a night to remember just because of the scale.

This year families can enjoy Alice in Wonderland, Cinderella, Rapunzel, Little Red Riding Hood and more familiar classics. We've rounded up a few pantomimes perfect for celebrating this Christmas. We will update this list as more are confirmed.

Sleeping Beauty with TikTok's Joel M

The cast of Sleeping Beauty is excited to spread some festive cheer at The Atkinson in Southport, starring Blue Peter presenter and TikTok sensation, Joel M. He takes on the role of Presto the Court Jester, showcasing a combination of pantomime classics and illusions.

Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs

The classic tale of Snow White will be told on stage at St Helens Theatre Royal. The cast includes Maureen Nolan as Wicked Queen, Emrhys Cooper as Prince Frederick, Leanne Campbell as Magic Mirror, Chantelle Morgan as Snow White, Richard Aucott as Nurse Nelly and Lewis Devine as Muddles.

The Magical Adventures of Peter Pan

Peter and his friends encounter the villainous Captain Hook, who seeks revenge on Peter for the loss of his hand to a hungry crocodile. With Tink's guidance and the help of magical fairy dust, Peter Pan must outsmart Captain Hook and his bumbling crew, overcoming challenges, and discovering the true meaning of love, loyalty, and never-ending magic.

Cinderella with Anne Hegerty

The former I’m A Celebrity contestant will be playing the Fairy Godmother and said she is relishing the chance to have a very different role to her usual authoritative demeanour as a ‘Chaser’. Anne will be joined by Charlotte Buxton as Cinderella, Stockton Heath’s own Chris Pym as Prince Charming, Katie Buttner as Dandini, Nick Fawcett as Baron Hardup and Philip Meeks and Matt McInnes as the Ugly Sisters.

Cinderella at Knowsley Leisure and Culture Park

The show features an all-star cast which includes Coronation Street and Doctor’s star Scott Wright as Prince Charming with Miss Liverpool 2023/2024, Brittany Feeney as Cinderella, and top Pantomime Comic Stuart Earp appearing as Buttons.

Aladdin at Blackpool's Pleasure Beach Resort

Disney's classicv Arabian tale receives a star-studded retelling. Guiests can see nfluencer and TV personality Charlotte Dawson take on the villan Jafar, Emmerdale's Kelsey-Beth Crossley as the Spirit of the Ring, and a varitey of well known faces from the panto and West End circuits.

Alice in Wonderland

Rock n Roll Panto

The Rock n Roll panto returns with Rapunzel as this year's story. Expect electryfying rifts and the loudest audience you'll find anywhere in Merseyside.
