Best connected cameras to share your photos

Whether you take pictures on your smartphone or you use a camera, these days capturing the moment is almost as important as sharing it.

Photos or videos that you take with your smartphone are easy enough to upload onto your social media favourites but sometimes the images aren't the best they can be.

Cameras on the other hand can also handle sharing your moments and the images they produce are even better, so here are five of the best connected camera options to consider.

Canon PowerShot S120 - £449

The Canon PowerShot S120 is a truly pocketable compact camera that comes with a decent build quality and great autofocus that is up to the task and faster than predecessors.

There is built-in Wi-Fi on board, along with global positioning satillite (GPS) for geotagging images. When it comes to sharing, you can post images to Facebook and Twitter directly from the Canon Camera Window app, where you can get the camera and smart device to talk to each other after the initial set-up.

In terms of numbers, the S120 comes with a 12.2-megapixel sensor, a 24-120mm lens with a maximum aperture of f/1.8-5.7 and a 3-inch display on the rear that allows you to see the great shots you have taken.

Samsung Galaxy Camera 2 - £399

The Samsung Galaxy Camera 2 is a clever little camera to say the least, offering flawless Android integration, great multimedia playback and a large touchscreen display.

It is a Wi-Fi only model and you can use Samsung's free apps for iOS and Android to control it via your smartphone, as well as access your shots for sharing over social media or email. As it is runs on the Android interface, you can also share directly from the camera's touchscreen itself.

The Galaxy Camera 2 offers a 21x optical zoom lens, which delivers a 23-483mm equivalent and there is a 16.3-megapixel sensor on board. You'll get a maximum aperture of f/2.8-5.9 and there is 8GB of internal storage, along with a 50GB Dropbox account.

Panasonic Lumix TZ60 - £349

The Panasonic Lumix TZ60 features 30x optical zoom and comes with an excellent image stabilisation system, along with manual focus options and improved Wi-Fi for sharing.

Like the Canon S120, it is truly pocketable and it offers built-in Wi-Fi so you can share your images from the camera to various devices. Panasonic has an Image App that can read QR codes to transmit the images from camera to smartphone and there is near field communication (NFC) on board too.

The Lumix TZ60 has a 3-inch LCD panel on the rear and it features a 18.1-megapixel sensor, along with a 24-720mm equivalent focal range that offers a maximum aperture of f/3.3-6.4.

Sony Cyber-shot QX10 - £179

For those that don't want to carry a camera around with them on top of their smartphone could opt for the Sony Cyber-shot QX10 smart lens that will attach to your phone.

The QX10 is great quality and adds real optical zoom to smartphones in a simple, versatile and flexible way. There is an 18.2-megapixel sensor on board and it has 10x optical zoom, which equates to a 25-250mm zoom with an aperture range from f/3.3 to f/5.9.

You'll find both Wi-Fi and NFC for pairing your device to the lens, after which you will need the Sony PlayMemories for Mobile app to control the lens and share your images.
