From the buzzing streets of central London all the way to the chic and charming cobbled lanes of Islington, here's where you and your pup can wine and dine together.

Pizarro Restaurant

Everything the dogs need to know:

Dogs of all shapes and sizes are warmly welcomed at this Bermondsey Street haunt, where they will be given their own bowl of water on arrival. Doggies dine at the window counter seats to people watch a furry flurry of dogs stroll by on what must be one of the most dog-friendly streets south of the river.

Everything the humans need to know:

Set on the vibrant Bermondsey Street, Pizarro offers delicious, creative and exquisite Spanish food with all the home comforts. The very pretty, light and airy restaurant serves a selection of smaller dishes, as well as generous mains, all of which can be shared and devoured at the table tapas-style or as the main event. We recommend sharing so that you can sample as much of the delicious and comprehensive menu as possible. If you can't decide what to eat, the friendly staff are on hand to advise diners on how many plates they should order. Highlights include the meatballs and cuttlefish served in squid ink, and the Castilian leg of suckling lamb (which George may have sneakily sampled).

Egerton House Hotel - Knightsbridge

Everything the dogs need to know:

Afternoon tea is a classic British tradition - and at The Egerton House Hotel, doggies are more than welcome. Upon arrival, dogs are greeted with a warm reception and have a tasty menu specially designed for them. Doggy Afternoon Tea is served in the same style as a traditional high tea and has three courses - meatloaf, biscuits and ice-cream to finish.

The Egerton House Hotel is a short walk from Harrods and all the delights west London has to offer. It really is the perfect place for treating that special someone… even if that special someone has four legs rather than two! The afternoon tea was commended by the Afternoon Tea Awards 2017, and is served in the elegant drawing room that feels like you’re having tea on the set of Downton Abbey. The food caters for everyone (not just dogs), with afternoon tea for vegetarians, vegans and those with a gluten intolerance.

J. Sheekey Atlantic Bar Winter Terrace

Everything the dogs need to know:

Well-mannered dogs agreeing to the doggy code of conduct are welcome on the terrace and well cared for. Bowl of fresh water, pats and chat from the staff included.

Everything the humans need to know:

A cosy, romantic al-fresco haven in the heart of London's West End theatre district, complete with snug blankets, outdoor heaters and a crackling log fire. Responsibly caught and sustainable seafood is served from midday until late, alongside an exquisite list of coastal wines and cocktails. Reasonably priced seasonal favourites to the Atlantic Bar menu (also available on request) offers an array of Skeekey classics, including a shrimp & scallop burger, seared octopus and fish stew with rouille.

M Bar & Grill, Victoria Street

Everything the dogs need to know:

If you’re looking for a restaurant that not only allows dogs, but also provides them with their own lunch menu, then M Victoria Street is the place for you. For £35, both a two-legged diner and their four-legged friend can enjoy a two-course menu sutiable for both humans and dogs. And if you’re lucky, you might even get to meet resident hound Hudson, the labradoodle.

A subterranean restaurant entered via a beautifully presented wine shop on Victoria Street - M Grill specialises in steaks from across the globe, including some rather incredible Blackmore Waygu Grade 9++ beef. As the very 'grammable entrance to the restaurant suggests, wine plays an integral role at M Victoria Street. With many bottles exclusive to M Restaurants, wine lovers won’t be disappointed by the formidable selection on offer. In addition to all the booze, M also offers a varied and delicious weekend brunch menu where you can enjoy bottomless Bellinis as your canine companion tucks into their own meal.

The Table Cafe, Southwark

What the dogs need to know:

Dogs of all sizes are welcome: four large or eight small will comfortably squeeze inside. A bowl of fresh water (and treats on special occasions) await canine guests. Cuddles from the staff are limitless.

Everything the humans need to know:

Located on Southwark Street, award-winning The Table Café serves simple and classic food with flair. Think brunch, all day and specialised weekend menus. Food is sourced from British suppliers with the menu supporting homeless charity St Mungo’s. Expect vegetarian and vegan options, as well as Trotter Benedict (black pudding, bacon and poached organic eggs atop an English muffin), a prime beef and bone marrow burger on a fluffy brioche bun, sweet and savoury waffles and pancakes. Wash all down with a fab selection of cocktails and homemade sodas.

Minnow, Clapham Common

What the dogs need to know:

Dogs are welcome inside the cosy restaurant, on the ground floor and outside. Fresh water is served in a classy bowl as well as biscuits. Reservations are strongly recommended for canine diners.

Everything the humans need to know:

Indie and Instagram favourite Minnow overlooks the lush green expanse of Clapham Common in South West London. The laid back neighbourhood restaurant serves a modern, seasonal menu using fresh ingredients and local produce, as well as a selection of wine, cocktails inspired by local artists, freshly pressed juices and hand roasted coffee. Weekday Brunch and Lunch menus feature a Grilled Cauliflower Steak, Grilled Plaice, Steak Sandwich with Homemade bread, complimented with sides such as the now very on trend truffle chips or chorizo. For dessert? Demolish the chocolate brownie and house ice cream. Aperitivo hours, weekend brunch and a Sunday roast club are also available.

Abuelo, Covent Garden

What the dogs need to know:

When not out and about, resident canine Annie the Goldendoodle welcomes all guests in the cosy coffee house. Fresh water is given on arrival as well as lots of hugs.

Everything the humans need to know:

Australia meets South America at Abuelo (which means “grandfather” in Spanish), lodged in the heart of Covent Garden and the theatre district. The coffee-house and kitchen project is owned and operated by women with a background in architecture, creative direction, design and hospitality, so it's a very arty affair. Take a seat in the cosy sofa corner or at the “kitchen table” to sample the speciality coffees and teas, and a beautiful all-day menu of ethically sourced, fresh and organic food. On the menu: truffle mushroom toasties, mac and cheese, beef brisket, pumpkin on charcoal bread and oodles of cakes decorated with flowers.

40 Dean Street

Everything the dogs need to know:

Well behaved dogs are welcome and are rewarded with a fresh bowl of water for keeping quiet. We recommend asking for a corner table at the front or on the small terrace for extra comfort.

Everything the humans need to know:

Say hello (or woof!) to "the pinnacle of affordable Italian cuisine in busy Soho," 40 Dean Street. The small family-run restaurant offers a good selection of authentic, hearty dishes prepared using fresh and seasonal produce and accompanied by an extensive drinks list. Classics such as stone oven pizzas, chicken Milanese or bresaola meet spicy and seafood dishes, including a delicious homemade fresh lobster ravioli, served in a friendly and buzzing atmosphere. There are several vegetarian options, with a choice of à la carte or set menu. We ate all of it. Literally.

Bluebird Cafe, Chelsea

Everything the dogs need to know:

Bluebird isn’t just a ‘dogs allowed’ restaurant, it’s one of those genuine ‘dog friendly’ kinds of places. Dogs are greeted with a warm welcome by all of the staff. They receive a fresh bowl of water (with choice of tap or still) at the table that is topped up throughout the duration of your stay and a goody bag full of treats to munch on whilst the humans tuck into their food.

The Bluebird Café offers a sanctuary from the bustle of the King’s Road. From weekday healthy breakfasts to cocktails and bites at the weekend; the café boasts something different and affordable for everyone. Expect traditional favourites from a Full English to vegan curry and hot piping butternut squash soup. But really, Bluebird is all about the cocktails, oh the cocktails! A variety of hot and cold cocktail options are on offer, including the ‘Courtyard Party,’ a fresh mix of gin, fresh mint, raspberries, lychee juice and a dash of sparkling wine and the ever so on trend piping hot espresso martini. If cocktails aren't your thing, a comprehensive selection of whites, reds and Champagnes also don the impressive menu. What's even better, is that the Chelsea institution caters to every diet imaginable. If in doubt, ask your waiter who will be more than happy to discuss, choose and advise.

Maggie Jones's

Everything the dogs need to know:

The private, intimate and cutesy tables and booths at Maggie Jones's are ideal for guests with four-legged companions. Dogs are welcome 'as long as they behave' say the owners. Space is limited, so only a few are allowed in at a time. To avoid disappointment, book in advance. Once you're in, all pups are given a bowl of fresh water for the duration of their stay.

A favourite abode for Kensington residents for over 40 years, Maggie Jones's was renamed in the 70s after the alias used by two of its favourite (and very loyal) customers, Princess Margaret and Lord Snowden. The charming restaurant is set across three uneven wooden floors and is renowned for its rustic and eccentric charm, as well as its generous menu of classic British fare, which includes almond and spinach tarts, creamed fish pie, and a very nommish bread and butter pudding.

The Orchard, Brockley

Everything the dogs need to know:

Well-behaved dogs are warmly welcomed at The Orchard where they can spend a leisurely morning napping while owners read their newspapers on the squishy leather sofas. A large water bowl is available on request to keep dogs hydrated.

Everything the humans need to know:

The Orchard is a firm favourite in Brockley for good reason: it offers deliciously cooked local produce and a great and ever-changing menu. Firm favourites include the crispy calamari with teriyaki and plum sauce, a chargrilled bavette steak and a top-notch full vegetarian breakfast (the sweetcorn croquettes melt in the mouth). Finish off with a fabulous selection of cocktails. Pop along for a catch up with friends or for a long and relaxing Sunday lunch with pup in arms.

Bellanger

Everything the dogs need to know:

Hounds of all sizes are made to feel bienvenus in the main room, at the bar and the private alcoves of Bellanger. All are provided with a fresh bowl of water, a generous supply of biscuits and much attention from the waiters. The restaurant does ask you to let them know if a dog will be joining you, to allow them to find an appropriate table.

Celebrating the best of the Alsace region of France (where brasseries originate), this traditional restaurant perched on a prime spot on Islington Green serves breakfast, weekend brunch, lunch, dinner and drinks. Its stunning Parisian-style grand café offers an extensive à la carte lunch menu featuring delicious flammekueche, salads, grilled fish, confit duck, tarte au citron and pot au chocolat. Wash all down with a comprehensive selection of French wines, classic cocktails and Alsace-Lorraine beers on tap.

sketch - Mayfair

Everything the dogs need to know:

sketch welcomes small, well-behaved dogs in The Parlour between 7am and 4pm. Dogs will receive a very warm welcome from the pup-loving staff who will be more than happy to provide a bowl of fresh water and a reasonable amount of fuss.

Everything the humans need to know:

If you’re looking for somewhere unique and dog-friendly in Mayfair for breakfast or brunch, then sketch is the place for you. Set in a vibrantly decorated 18th century building on Conduit Street, the food on offer is much, much more than your traditional breakfast or brunch offering. Overseen by three-Michelin starred chef Pierre Gagnaire, expect everything from deep fried eggs and sketchup to posh porridge and hearty English brekkies served in one of the most Instagrammable spots in London. In a nutshell, the place is absolutely stunning.

Mercato Metropolitano

Everything the dogs need to know:

Dogs of all sizes are welcome on a lead from 8am to 11pm. Water and plenty of cuddles and selfies are available at many of the stalls.

Everything the humans need to know:

From pretzels to seitan, gelato to doner kebabs, ravioli, oysters, cheese fondue, pizza, steak, macarons, pho and tacos... via champagne, espresso, cocktails and beer... it's easier asking what can't be found at the stalls of the vibrant Mercato Metropolitano. Open all year round in the new "SoBo" area of London, the crowdfunded space has a charming industrial feel and offers everything from cooking lessons, to booze, Italian delis and of course, themed movie nights at Backyard Cinema.

Duck & Rice, Soho

Everything the dogs need to know:

From huskies to Pomeranians and corgis, four-legged diners are welcome in the main ground floor area of Duck and Rice where they will be given a bowl of water, a very generous portion of treats and plenty of attention. It's also one of the very few Chinese restaurants in the capital where you can actually take your dog. If you miss it, make sure you book a spot next year, as it's oh such fun.

Everything the humans need to know:

The latest venture of Alan Yau is a stylish and vibrant Soho restaurant that serves comfort Chinese food and unpasteurised (very important!) pilsner beers in copper tanks. From classic recipes like crispy duck and won ton soup to delicious dim sum and creative dishes (think spicy seared beef and seasonal knock outs), the well stocked bill of fare is varied and absolutely delicious.
