The best fireworks displays in Cambridgeshire for bonfire night 2024
Whether you enjoy a simple get together with friends or prefer the flashier fireworks displays, Cambridgeshire has a range of events happening across the county to celebrate Bonfire Night. From Cambridge city centre to smaller local shows, there is something suitable for everyone to remember, remember the 5th of November.
Bonfire Night falls on a Tuesday this year, but there are still plenty of displays to see over the weekend in the run-up to November 5. A few of these events will also have other activities taking place to keep you entertained.

1. Cambridge
Address: Midsummer Common, Cambridge CB5 8DJ
Organised by Cambridge City Council, this fireworks display is one of the longest running traditions in Cambridge. The oldest fireworks display company in the UK, Pains Fireworks, will be lighting up the sky for this event.
This fireworks display will be taking place on Bonfire Night with the show starting at 7pm. There will be two performances by the street theatre show Spark! who combine drumming with coloured lighting, just before the displays at 6pm and 7.20pm.
The event is completely free and draws in thousands of people each year. No ticket is necessary to watch the show but the organisers suggest you allow plenty of time to arrive, as they expect a large turnout.
2. Ely
Address: Cherry Hill Park, 78 Broad St, Ely CB7 4BE
With the backdrop of Ely Cathedral, this fireworks display really is a magnificent sight. The display will be put on by the Crazy Fireworks team with a range of fairground rides and refreshment stalls dotted around the park to keep you entertained.
The event is taking place on Saturday, November 2, and entry to the park will begin at 5pm with the bonfire being lit at 6.30pm and the display starting at 7pm. Tickets bought in advance cost £8 for adults, £4 for children, and £20 for a family ticket.

3. Huntingdon

Huntingdon Fireworks are putting on two displays this year on Saturday, November 2. The first, which will start at 7.30pm, is made especially for children with popular kids songs for them to sing along to and fireworks that are slightly less noisy.
At 8.30pm, the main musical display will take place, which is designed by Komodo Fireworks, and will see the fireworks paint the sky in time to the music. Early bird tickets are on sale now and cost £10 for adults and £5 for children aged 3 to 15 and can be bought from the Komodo website here.
4. Peterborough
Address: Peterborough Lions Rugby Club, Peterborough, PE3 8DF
For the 15th year, the Peterborough Lions Rugby Club will be putting on a fireworks display. Alongside the bonfire, there will be a funfair and a fully licensed bar selling a variety of real ales.
The event is taking place on Sunday, November 3, and will start at 7pm. Tickets cost £7.50 for adults and £5 for children and special family tickets that cost £20, all of which can be bought from their website here.
5. St Ives
Address: The Big Field site, London Road, St Ives, PE27 5ER
Fireworks in Hemingford has been running for 75 years and promises to deliver an evening of musical fireworks and entertainment. Britain's Got Talent contestant Jezo will be performing some magic tricks and there will be street food vans and a funfair for the children to enjoy.
The event will be taking place on Saturday, November 9, with gates opening at 4.30pm and the fireworks display starting at 7pm. Tickets cost £12 for adults and £7 for children and they can be bought from their ticketing website here.
6. Kimbolton
Address: Kimbolton Castle, Kimbolton, Huntingdon PE28 0EA
Taking place on Friday, November 1, the town of Kimbolton will be hosting a fireworks display in front of their historical country house. The display, put on by Titanium Fireworks, will last for 20 minutes and will be paired with music.
The event will also feature a funfair, live music, and food starting from 5.45pm. Tickets cost £14 for adults and £4.50 for children aged between three and 18 and can be bought from their website here.
7. Yaxley
Address: The Three Horseshoes, 179 Main St, Yaxley, Peterborough PE7 3LD
This year, Yaxley's Scout and Guide Group is helping to organise the fireworks display at The Three Horseshoes pub in the village. The event will take place on Saturday, November 2, with gates opening at 5:45pm and the fireworks starting at 7pm.
Tickets for adults cost £8 per person and a child's ticket costs £5 for those aged 3 to 17. You have to buy a ticket in advance, as no ticket will be sold on the night, and they can be bought here.
8. Horningsea
Address: Village Hall, Horningsea, Cambridge CB25 9JG
On Sunday, November 3, the Horningsea Residents Association is putting on a fireworks display and bonfire. The event will be taking place on the Village Green adjacent to the Village Hall.
The gates will be open from 5:30pm for visitors to enjoy hot drinks, snacks, and music before the lighting of the bonfire starts at 6:30pm with the fireworks display to follow. Tickets cost £5 for adults and £2.50 for children aged over 5 years old and can be bought on the night but make sure to bring the correct change as it is cash only.
